Passengers Backflow At Bakauheni Port Begins To Increase

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Bakauheni Branch reported that the number of passengers on the backflow of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, began to increase today to 41,756 people.

"The number of passengers consists of 4,897 pedestrians and 36,859 people in the vehicle," said General Manager of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Bakauheni Branch Rudi Sunarko as reported by ANTARA, Friday, April 12.

The number of passengers crossing from Bakauheni Port to Merak Port, Banten, was recorded for 12 hours starting at 08.00-20.00 WIB.

On April 11 or the day before, ASDP Bakauheni Branch recorded a total of 41,280 passengers being dispatched.

Rudi explained that the number of passengers as many as 41,756 people was served with 78 ship crossings.

In addition to passengers, the number of vehicles that were dispatched in the form of two wheels was 3,714 units and four wheels were 5,908 units.

ASDP has provided 66 ships to serve passengers and vehicles during Lebaran's backflow from Java Island to Sumatra Island and vice versa.

Secretary of PT ASDP Indonesia Fery (Persero) Shelvy Arifin appealed to service users to come to the port according to the scheduled departure on the ship's ticket.

"We again appeal to service users, please work together to buy tickets before arriving and coming according to the date on the ticket," he said.

ASDP has imposed a policy of removing ticket validity for the first 24 hours during the period 11-21 April 2024 or during the return flow period of Eid.

Prospective ship passengers do not need to worry about the validity period of the ticket so they do not have to arrive early to the port which can trigger congestion or vehicle congestion at the port.
