Today's Weather, Some Areas In Indonesia Light Rain

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts light rain will flush most of the provincial capital areas in Indonesia on Sunday, March 31.

The areas predicted to rain with light intensity during the day are Serang, Gorontalo, Bandung, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, and Samarinda.

Then Tanjung Pinang, Ternate, Mataram, Kupang, Jayapura City, Manokwari, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Kendari, Manado, Padang, Palembang, and Medan.

Meanwhile, the Bandar Lampung and Mamuju areas are predicted to rain with moderate intensity.

BMKG also asked people in the Pangkal Pinang and Bengkulu City areas to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning which will occur this afternoon with humidity 65-95.

Meanwhile, BMKG predicts that the weather in Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Semarang, and Palangkaraya will be cloudy, while Ambon City will be thick cloudy.

The areas of Banda Aceh, Jambi, Surabaya, and Tarakan are predicted to be cloudy.

Ahead of the Lebaran 1445 H homecoming season, BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati appealed to travelers to be careful and increase vigilance considering that extreme weather still has the potential to occur in several areas.

Indonesia is currently also entering a transition period, or a transition from the rainy season to the dry season, so people are asked to continue to monitor weather forecasts on the official BMKG website.

"We appeal to all travelers, transportation service providers, and transportation operators to be aware of the possibility of extreme weather during the flow of homecoming. The dynamics of the atmosphere in Indonesia is very dynamic, so that it can suddenly change," said Dwikorita.
