JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta has set the Transjabodetabek tariff for the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport or Transbandara route at Rp. 15,000 starting September 1, 2026.

The tariff was determined through the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 685 of 2026 after the SH2 route service operated for about four months during the trial period with a tariff of Rp. 3,500 or similar to the regular Transjakarta tariff.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office Budi Awaluddin claimed that the Rp15,000 tariff was not a tariff increase, but the official tariff after the trial period ended.

"The Governor issued Governor's Decree number 685 of 2026 concerning the public transportation service tariff of the TransBandara M Route of Soekarno-Hatta Airport with a tariff of Rp. 15,000," said Budi at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, July 31.

Budi explained that the decision was made on July 31 and will take effect on September 1, 2026. For the next one month, the DKI Provincial Government will carry out socialization to the public before the new tariff is implemented.

"This is not an increase, this is a determination, because it has not been determined before, right, the trial period. So this is a determination tariff and a tariff in the framework of social protection," he said.

The tariff determination, said Budi, was based on the results of evaluation during the trial period, academic studies, public surveys, and input from various parties.

However, the tariff of Rp. 15,000 only applies to the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route. Meanwhile, the Transjabodetabek tariff for the SH1 Kalideres-Soekarno-Hatta Airport Office route is still in the discussion stage.

"For Kalideres-Soekarno Hatta it has not been determined. It is still in the study which will later be together with the Transjakarta tariff that exists internally, Jakarta and also Transjabodetabek," said Budi.

Continuing, President Director of PT Transjakarta Welfizon Yuza revealed that the SH2 service began operating on March 12, 2026 ahead of the Lebaran homecoming rush. During the trial period, the route uses the regular Transjakarta tariff of Rp3,500.

According to him, the number of Transbandara users during the trial period showed a fairly stable trend. The route now serves more than 55,000 passengers per month or about 1,800 to 1,900 passengers per day.

"With 13 buses operated with a headway of about 20 minutes, this service has become an alternative. Because if we look at the city center to the airport there are already several modes and this is an alternative for the community," he said.

Welfizon revealed that the character of passengers on the SH2 route is different from most Transjakarta routes. On this route, the number of passengers on weekends is actually higher than on weekdays.

"What is different about this SH2 route, on holidays it turns out to be more. So the difference is about 6 percent more than on weekdays. So we see that this is actually used by people who are mobilizing using air transportation," he said.

He also emphasized that the Transbandara tariff is still much cheaper than the cost of traveling using a private vehicle to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"If we take a vehicle from Blok M to the airport, it's about if we pass through the toll, once the journey pays Rp. 28,500. So I say that if friends in Transjakarta, if we carry 8 people, it's only Rp. 28,000. So to pay the toll, it's actually not enough," concluded Welfizon.
