Flood Refugees In Kudus Start Returning Home

KUDUS - A number of residents of Kudus Regency, Central Java, who were affected by the flood and had to evacuate began to return to their homes, because the floodwaters began to recede.

Kotijah, a resident of Karangrowo Village, Undaan District, Kudus, Tuesday, admitted that he wanted to go home, because the water was starting to recede.

"Previously, the husband came home to clean the house, because it was informed that the flood had begun to recede," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 26.

During the flood, he and his family took refuge in the Kudus DPRD building, including other neighbors who also took refuge in the same place.

He admitted that he had been evacuating since Saturday (16/3) and only returned today (26/3).

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Kudus Mundir admitted that Kudus residents who previously took refuge in various locations, today (26/3) gradually began to return to their respective homes.

In his return, he said, residents were provided with transportation in the form of trucks from the Kudus Police, Satpol PP, BPBD Kudus, and a fleet from the sub-district.

Previously, the number of Kudus residents who fled reached 3,171 people, now starting to decrease to 1,912 people, because many returned to their respective homes.

One of the evacuation locations that started to empty, namely the Kudus Regency DPRD building, in the afternoon it was empty of refugees, because in the morning it began to be brought home by the Kudus Regency Government.
