JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jakpus) together with the DKI Jakarta Food and Drug Supervision Center (BBPOM) supervised to ensure the safety of various takjil foods along Jalan Bendungan Hilir (Benhil), Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
"This food supervision aims to provide security and pleasure for people who shop in takjil, and avoid contamination of polluted food in terms of cleanliness, dyes or a mixture of other preservative chemicals to the public or consumers," said Deputy Mayor of Central Jakarta Chaidir in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20.
Chaidir together with the Head of DKI BBPOM Sofiani Chandrawati Anwar, carried out surveillance by traveling to a number of traders' stalls.
They also observed various special foods for breaking the fast and asked about the basic ingredients used by traders in making takjil.

Chaidir said that the existence of the Takjil Benhil Market after the COVID-19 pandemic was increasingly known and is currently operating optimally.
As a result, every time before breaking the fast, Pasar Takjil Benhil is often crowded with residents.
For this reason, the Central Jakarta City Government and DKI Jakarta BBPOM consider the need for food supervision to provide security for the community.
Chaidir explained that apart from Takjil Benhil Market, supervision was also carried out at Kedai Shawarma Benhil and in the future there would be supervision at other takjil centers.
"We will ask the ranks of the Central Jakarta City Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Sub-dept. (KPKP) as well as Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) and BPOM to carry out further supervision and guidance," he said.
