TWICE's Jeongyeon Leaves JYP Entertainment, Follows Brother at VARO

JAKARTA - TWICE's Jeongyeon officially ended her contract with JYP Entertainment after sheltering for quite some time. This confirms the news that she is considering an offer with actor agency Varo Entertainment.

Through her Instagram account, Jeongyeon wrote a letter to her fans containing her first statement. She used this opportunity to thank fans and JYP Entertainment.

"JYP has been my second home since my teenage years; a place where I spent a lot of time and made a lot of memories. I'm now preparing for a new step in a new place," Jeongyeon wrote.

He continued, "I am grateful to the members and ONCE; words that cannot be expressed for thanks. I am also grateful to the JYP family who helped me grow into who I am today," he continued.

VARO Entertainment as TWICE's new agency made a statement that they signed an exclusive contract with the artist.

"We are very happy to make a special connection with Yu Jeongyeon who has a different charisma and unlimited potential. We resonate with Yu Jeongyeon's attitude and sincerity for acting," said VARO.

"With Yu Jungyeon's global appearance built up for a long time as an artist, we will be a partner who will support her in various ways so that she can take on new challenges as an actress while continuing group activities smoothly," the agency explained.

This statement clarifies Jeongyeon who continues to be active with TWICE even though she is in a different agency from the other members.

On the other hand, VARO Entertainment is an actor agency that oversees actress Gong Seung Yeon who is the older sister of TWICE's Jeongyeon. In addition, this agency is also home to Byeon Woo Seok, Jin Goo, Lee You Mi, Kim Si A, and others.

Jeongyeon also plans to make her acting debut through the film New Recruit which was adapted from the drama version.
