BRI and Danantara Strengthen the People's Economy, UMKM Class Up to the Corners of the Country

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI continues to strengthen its role in encouraging the empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sustainably. As part of Danantara Indonesia, BRI continues to support the strengthening of the national economy through various empowerment programs that not only have an impact on the economy, but also provide a tangible social impact for the community.

BRI's commitment to strengthening the MSME ecosystem is also reflected in the distribution of sustainable financing. As of the end of the first quarter of 2026, BRI's MSME credit portfolio reached around IDR 1,211 trillion, making BRI the bank with the largest MSME credit portfolio in Indonesia.

This achievement confirms BRI's consistency as a bank that focuses on empowering MSMEs, while ensuring that business actors not only obtain access to financing, but also assistance to increase productivity, expand markets, and grow sustainably.

Apart from financing, various empowerment programs continue to be optimized as part of BRI's strategy in encouraging the people's economy while supporting the Danantara agenda to build inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Until June 2026, the BRILiaN Village program has reached more than 5 thousand villages throughout Indonesia as an effort to strengthen the village economy. In addition, through the KlasterkuHidupku program, BRI has developed more than 43,337 business clusters to build a productive business ecosystem based on community.

On the digital side, BRI presents the LinkUMKM platform as a collaboration space that brings together MSMEs with markets, business partners, and various financial services. As of June 2026, the platform has been used by more than 17.3 million MSMEs to expand market access, increase business capacity, and accelerate business development towards more productive and competitive businesses.

Meanwhile, capacity building for business actors is also carried out through 54 BUMN Houses spread across various regions. Through these facilities, BRI has held more than 18 thousand training, with the number of registered MSMEs reaching 596 thousand, as part of the commitment to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs in various sectors.

Director of Micro BRI Akhmad Purwakajaya said that various empowerment programs are a manifestation of BRI's commitment to supporting Danantara in creating sustainable and inclusive growth.

"Under the supervision of Danantara Indonesia, BRI continues to play its strategic role in accelerating the national economy through the distribution of financing to productive sectors, especially MSMEs. We believe that empowerment is the key so that business actors not only have access to financing, but also are able to increase capacity, expand markets, upgrade, and make an increasingly greater contribution to national economic growth," said Akhmad.

Through an integrated approach between empowerment and financing, BRI continues to strengthen a robust and competitive MSME ecosystem. This step is in line with Danantara's commitment to bring about impact investment and encourage the creation of sustainable economic and social added value for Indonesia.
