LAMPUNG SELATAN - South Lampung Resort Police (Polres) continues to investigate the case of an interjudal sarong war in Kalida, South Lampung Regency, killing a 14-year-old boy with the initials LRF.

South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Yusriandi Yusrin said his party had currently examined 22 witnesses to investigate the incident on the public road of Kecapi Village, Kalianda District, on Monday, March 18 evening.

He explained that the motive for the sarong war was because there was an invitation from the victim's colleague via Whatsapp message. Until now, investigators are still collecting evidence used by students in the sarong war.

"We are still investigating, looking for sufficient preliminary evidence of anyone who should be suspected of committing a criminal act of violence against the victim. We are still continuing, so please be patient, because we have taken enough information, we must complete sufficient evidence," he said.

The police chief appealed to the entire community and parents in South Lampung to continue to protect and supervise children from crimes.

"Don't let our children become victims or sarong war players, make sure after tarawih prayers the children are already at home not to roam around that is not clear," he said.

To note, the incident occurred on Monday night, March 18, 2024, at around 20.30 WIB, a sarong war broke out between the Kecapi village youth and the Pematang village teenager who ended up dying one person.
