Police Hunt For Perpetrators Of Attacks 2 Members Of Pospol Ndeotadi 99 Paniai Papua

JAYAPURA Police are hunting for the perpetrators of the attack on members of the Ndeota Police Post in 99 Baya Biru District, Paniai Regency, which occurred on Wednesday, March 20 at around 08.00 WIT this morning.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, said that the shooting attack was allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

"At that incident, two of our members, Bripda Arnaldobert and Bripda Sandi Defrit, died in duty," said Benny in his statement, Wednesday, March 20.

He explained that the incident started when personnel were carrying out the security of Helliapad 99. Suddenly there was an attack that resulted in two of its member members being hit by the gunfire.

He suspected that the shooter was part of the Aibon Kogoya KKB.

"The incident started when our personnel were carrying out security in Hellipad 99, suddenly from the east there were several shots that caused us to lose two personnel and the theft of 2 AK-47 rifles," he said.

Paniai Police Chief, AKBP Abdus Syukur stated that his party was conducting a search and investigation related to the case.

"We will pursue the perpetrators or groups responsible for this action. They will be processed according to the applicable law. We are also increasing security at all points in Paniai Regency to avoid unwanted things," said the Police Chief.
