The Prosperous Failure Of The Prosecutor's Plan To Transfer Dito Mahendra To A Terrorist Prison

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor's Intention (JPU) to move the location of Mahendra Dito Sampurno alias Dito Mahendra, is likely to fail. Because, until now, the defendant in the alleged possession of firearms or illegal weapons is still languishing in the Salemba Detention Center (Rutan) of the Attorney General's Office.

The prosecutor was originally intending to move Dito to Gunung Sindur Prison or known as the Terrorist Prison. The reason is because of the consideration of the capacity of the detention center.

"Actually, the consideration is related to the capacity of the detention center in 7A at the AGO," said Head of the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office (Kajari) Haryoko Ari Prabowo to reporters quoted on Saturday, March 16.

In addition, relocating the location of detention of the defendant is also not new. Because, it is included as one of the law enforcement strategies.

"It's normal for us to move prisoners. Because the detention of legal problems at the prosecutor's office is not only one case," said Prabowo.

"So that related to the detention process and so on, we arrange how it can be apart from us considering the capacity there we talk about the law enforcement process to be more smooth," he continued.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor has submitted a request to transfer the location of Dito Mahendra's detention to the panel of judges on March 7.

However, until now, there has been no decision from the panel of judges regarding the request. Thus, Dito Mahendra is still languishing in the Salemba Rutan at the AGO branch.

"Until now, before there was a determination, dito was still there," he said.

However, if the panel of judges gives permission at the next trial, the prosecutor will immediately execute the defendant in the alleged illegal possession case.

"Unless there is a determination, we will carry out the determination," said Prabowo.

Dito Mahendra was charged with possessing 9 illegal or unlicensed weapons. A total of 6 of them are senpi.

The six illegal guns are a Clock 17 gun, a S&W revolver, a 19 Zev Clock pistol, an AK 101 M4, and an Angstadt Arms pistol.

As for the air soft gun and air rifle which are also not equipped with a valid letter or document, namely, Airsoft Gun Heckler & Koch G36, Airsoft Gun Heckler & Koch MP5, and a Walther brand air rifle.

Dito Mahendra is suspected of violating Article 1 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 12 of 1951 which regulates the possession of firearms.
