One PPLN Kuala Lumpur Suspect Of Election Cheating Becomes A Fugitive

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has named one of the six National Election Committees or PPLN as fugitives in the alleged election fraud case in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Originally, in handling the case, the National Police named 7 PPLN Kuala Lumpur as suspects.

"(Insial) MKM is a DPO suspect," said Head of the Gakkumdu Polri Task Force as well as Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro when confirmed, Friday, March 8.

Based on the results of tracing and coordinating with Immigration, the MKM suspect is no longer in Malaysia. From the crossing data, the former Kuala Lumpur PPLN is in Indonesia.

"We are still looking for his whereabouts," he said.

Meanwhile, the other six suspects, namely UF, PS, APR, AKH, TOCR, and DS. Investigators plan to delegate the second stage or hand over the suspect to the Prosecutor's Office today.

"The suspect and evidence will be sent to the Central Jakarta Prosecutor's Office on Friday, March 8, 2024," said Djuhandhani.

In this case, the PPLN were named suspects for being involved in cheating in a vote in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

They add or reduce voter lists in elections after the stipulation of a fixed voter list and or intentionally falsify data and voter lists.

Thus, they are charged with Article 545 and/or Article 544 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections.
