JAKARTA - PT. MRT Jakarta has extended the operational schedule for the arrival distance between PT. MRT Jakarta trains starting today, Monday, March 1, 2020. This change follows the rules in the PPKM Mikro period.

PT. MRT Jakarta Operations and Maintenance Director Muhammad Effendi said there were changes to the headway during rush hour. Previously, the headway at 07.00-09.00 Western Indonesia Time had a 5-minute break.

"PT. MRT Jakarta has changed the distance between trains (headway) to 10 minutes flat for all operational hours during the micro-based PPKM," Effendi said in his statement, Monday, March 1.

Meanwhile, the MRT headway outside of peak hours, namely 05.00-07.00 and 09.00-22.00 Western Indonesia Time still has an arrival distance of 10 minutes per train.

The operational hours on weekdays, namely Monday to Friday, start at 05.00 up to 22.00 Western Indonesia Time. Meanwhile, on weekends it starts at 6:00 to 8:00 Western Indonesia Time.

"The limitation on the number of users is 62-67 people per train (carriage) or 390 people per series of trains," said Effendi.

Effendi continued, the change in the MRT Jakarta headway schedule that has been determined is a follow-up to the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta number 107 of 2021 concerning the Imposition of Restrictions on Micro-Based Community Activities.

In addition, the evaluation of previous operating patterns on the number of passengers is also a consideration for PT. MRT Jakarta in extending the headway during rush hour.

"All forms of adjustments to the applicable operational schedule are a form of MRT Jakarta's support for the government's efforts to tackle the spread of the COVID-19 virus," he called.

Effendi appealed to the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols in the MRT Jakarta environment, such as the obligation to wear masks, maintain distance between users, diligently wash hands, and not speak, either one or two directions while on the train and station platform area.
