Serang City Police Banten Province arrested a beauty shop cashier with the initialsFF (27), a resident of Karang Tanjung, Pandeglang, Banten, after embezzling Rp527.147 million.
Serang City Police Chief, Kombes Sofwan Hermanto, said the police had named FF as a suspect after previously being on the People's Wanted List (DPO).
"The suspect was arrested by the police at his hiding place in Sajira District, Lebak Regency on Saturday (24/2) after being included in the DPO," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 26.
Sofwan said the suspect was a cashier at the Serang beauty clinic who was trusted to manage finances by the shop owner. However, the suspect was desperate to take money from the sale of beauty products of Rp. 1 million to Rp. 3 million every day from the range of February 2022 to November 2023.
"This suspect as a cashier, he is determined to take money from sales every day from Rp. 1 million to Rp. 3 million, from February 2022 to November 2023," he said.
Sofwan said that for the time being the total loss caused by the suspect was IDR 527.147 million.
