AHY Delivers SBY's Message After Being Inaugurated: Democratic Party Must Succeed Jokowi's Government

Chairman of the High Council of the Democratic Party as well as the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) advised all ranks of his party to make President Joko Widodo's government a success which will end in eight months. SBY's message was conveyed by his son, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), after being inaugurated as minister of agrarian and spatial planning/head of the National Land Agency (BPN) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 21. "He (SBY) advised that this good opportunity could be a good space for the big family of the Democratic Party to make President Jokowi's government successful in his term of office, as well as an important part of the transition to national leadership," AHY said as quoted by Antara. AHY, who is also the Chairman of the Democratic Party, continued that specifically SBY, as a parent and elder of the Democratic Party, asked him to work as well as possible in carrying out his mandate as a minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet and assisting President Joko Widodo. "Pak SBY as a parent and also as a former president, as an elder of the Democratic Party, he hopes that I can work well, professionally showing the work ethic, dedication, and commitment to work as well as possible at the Ministry of ATR/BPN," said AHY. According to him, SBY understands that government affairs are very complex and no one can stand alone. Therefore, SBY asked AHY to be able to establish good communication with cross-sectoral leaders. "No one can stand alone, interrelated. Therefore, he hopes that I can immediately establish communication, including coordination with various cross-sectoral leaders, cross-institutions and ministries," he said.

AHY admitted that he would soon find time to be able to communicate with other ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet and related parties so that they could work well.
