CIKARANG - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, expressed his request that the digital signature system on the iPubers application be simplified. This is to facilitate the distribution of subsidized fertilizers to farmers. He revealed this at a press conference on the 2024 Pupuk Discount Festival in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Sunday, February 4.

Airlangga said that signing via the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine is not easy, especially to match signatures with ID cards. As a solution, he plans to simplify regulations related to the digital signature process on i-Pubers applications.

"Because it is not easy to sign through the EDC (Electronic Data Capture) machine, therefore we will simplify the regulations," said Airlangga during a press conference on the 2024 Fertilizer Discount, in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Sunday.

In every subsidized fertilizer redeemer, farmers are required to perform digital signatures through the iPubers application using an EDC machine. This application was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) to monitor the distribution, stock, and allocation of subsidized fertilizers more efficiently.

"Earlier there was a request from farmers that it is enough to use an ID card (to redeem subsidized fertilizer) and the government can accept the request," he also said.

Airlangga Hartarto also said that the government would allow the use of Identity Cards (KTP) as a substitute for Farmer Cards for self-identification when redeeming subsidized fertilizers. This decision was taken in response to reports from farmers who forgot their Farmer Card PIN number.

"The government can accept requests to use an ID card (to redeem subsidized fertilizers)," he said.

In addition, Airlangga also provided convenience for aid recipients who were unable to attend by allowing representatives to take subsidized fertilizer rations, as long as they were provided with a power of attorney from the beneficiaries.

"With these steps, in principle, we want to facilitate the distribution of subsidized fertilizers," added Airlangga.
