JAKARTA - The Central Java Police have a new monument. The monument is in the form of a Statue of Police General Hoegeng Iman Santoso which is located in the courtyard of the Central Java Police Headquarters and faces Jalan Pahlawan.

The inauguration of the monument was led directly by the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi accompanied by Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Agus Suryo Nugroho and was also attended by all PJU Polda Central Java and the Police Chiefs.

In his remarks, the Kapolda said that in Central Java there are now 2 monuments to the Hoegeng Statue of Iman Santoso, namely at the Hoegeng Iman Santoso Stadium in Pekalongan City and at the Central Java Police Headquarters.

Previously, in November 2023, a similar monument at the Hoegeng Stadium, Pekalongan City, was led directly by the National Police Chief, General Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"With the establishment of this monument at the Central Java Police, we have an icon of pride in 2 places. This indicates that Pak Hoegeng Iman Santoso's spirit is embedded in the hearts of Polri personnel, especially at the Central Java Police," said Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi in a written statement, Sunday, February 4.

The Kapolda said that the figure of Hoegeng Iman Santoso was not only an icon of the police, but also an icon of society because of the values of honesty, courage and simplicity he had.

"Even the president (the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Gus Dur) said that in Indonesia there were 3 honest police officers, namely Pak Hoegeng, sleeping police and police statues," he said.

He also hopes that the establishment of the monument will be a source of inspiration and motivation for all Polri personnel, especially at the Central Java Police to imitate the figure of Police General Hoegeng Iman Santoso.

"In the figure of Mr. Hoegeng, there is the value of honesty, courage, simplicity, and so on. This is an inspiration that we must raise all of us and is expected to motivate others to give rise to Hogeng-Hoegeng," he said.

After the activity, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol. Satake Bayu, explained that the Hoegeng Statue monument, Iman Santoso, at the Central Java Police Headquarters, had a height of 9 meters, this statue stands at a footing of 4 meters. While the height of the focus on the floor is 1 meter. So that in total, the height of the statue to General Hoegeng is 14 meters.

The 'Hoegeng statue, which is made 14 meters high, has its own meaning. It shows the birth date of General Hoegeng, which is October 14, and died on July 14,' he concluded.
