JAKARTA - The Chinese Indonesian Community (KOMIT) has proposed that Anies Baswedan's presidential candidate make Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) a national hero.
One of the big families of KOMIT Anwar Budiman said that Gus Dur's request to be made a national hero was an aspiration of the Indonesian people of China.
"We propose Kiai Haji Abdurrahman Wahid Gusdur to be used as a National Hero if he is elected as President," Anwar said in a discussion with KOMIT in Glodok, West Jakarta, Monday, January 29.
The Chinese Indonesian community also expressed support for candidate pair Anies Baswedan so that the goal of KOMIT can be achieved.
"I am sure that I will not leave this deposit to another, only to Mr. Anies," said Anwar.
