BPK Finds Excess Infrastructure Expenditure In Banten Of IDR 11.82 Billion

SERANG - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Representative of Banten Province found the potential for overpayment of infrastructure development spending in 2023 in the Banten Provincial Government, Tangerang Regency and Pandeglang amounting to Rp11.82 billion. Head of BPK Representative for Banten Province, Dede Sukarjo, said that the results of the inspection of compliance in the picking test of road infrastructure spending for Fiscal Year 2023 (until November 30, 2023) for the Banten Provincial Government, Tangerang Regency and Pandeglang Regency, among others, revealed that the problem of implementing paving block, asphalt, and concrete road work as well as spending on planning and supervision consulting services did not comply with contract provisions. "This resulted in an excess/potential overpayment of Rp11.82 billion that occurred to the Banten Provincial Government amounting to Rp5.11 billion, Tangerang Regency amounting to Rp5.92 billion and Pandeglang Regency amounting to Rp789.93 million," said Dede in Serang, Antara, Friday, January 19. Due to the excess/potential overpayment, he said, the Banten Provincial Government has followed up with a refund to the regional treasury of Rp3.11 billion or less than Rp2 billion, the Tangerang Regency Government has followed up entirely on Rp5.92 billion, while the Pandeglang Regency Government has followed up with a return to the regional treasury of Rp726.79 million. He emphasized that Article 20 of Law Number 15 of 2004 mandates that officials are obliged to follow up on the recommendations of the examination results report. Officials are required to provide answers or explanations to the BPK regarding the follow-up to the recommendation of the examination report no later than 60 (sixty) days after the report on the results of the examination is received. The LHP submitted by the BPK consists of seven Performance LHPs and three Compliance LHPs including LHP Performance for the effectiveness of the efforts of the Regional Government in the Implementation of the Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (KEK) in 2020 to Semester I of 2023 with the Banten Provincial Government and other relevant agencies in Banten and Jakarta.
