Sawah Owner Killed By Electric Trap, Police: Already Urged Not To Use The Tool

The electric rat trap that was installed in the Kedungbanteng Hamlet rice fields, Sidorejo Village, Kedungtuban District, Blora Regency, Central Java claimed lives. The man named Suwarno (62), reportedly died when he was caught in a trap set by his neighbor in a rice field.

The victim was first discovered by Karjono (60), who then conveyed it to Masturi (50), a resident of Dukuh Kedungbanteng, Sidorejo Village.

Knowing this, the two then informed the village apparatus, M. Abdul Gofar (55). Gofar also reported to the Kedungtuban Police with a Police Report: LP/Gangguan/15/XII/2023/SPKT/Sek Kedungtuban/Res Blora/Central Java.

According to witness testimony, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 31, at around 15.30 WIB. The victim is said to have gone to see the rice fields.

However, at around 17.00 WIB, witness Karjono saw the victim lying on the rice field belonging to Ahmad Mustakim (34).

Knowing this, Karjono then called Masturi (50) and turned off the electricity from the water pump house in Anto's rice fields.

Abdul Gofar as the local Village Apparatus reported to the Kedungtuban Poksek. After receiving the report, the Kedungtuban Police together with the Koramil, Sat Pol PP and the Ketuwan Health Center medical team immediately went to the crime scene (TKP).

Together with residents, the victim's body was then evacuated to get an examination. When examined, the victim was already dead.

According to the medical team, burns were found on the thumb, index and middle finger and there were no signs of violence or abuse. Furthermore, the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial.

The Head of the Kedungtuban Police, AKP Sujiharno, confirmed the incident. Munurut Sujiharno, urged not to set rat traps in the fields using electricity, has been socialized to people.
