CIKARANG - A total of 10 national companies are said to have met the criteria for the Domestic Component Level or TKDN for the development of the National Electric Motor or Molinas. The government will then encourage product standardization so that it can compete in the international market.
The Minister of Investment and Industrialization/Head of BKPM and Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani conveyed this at the launch of Molinas in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Thursday, August 13.
"There are about 10 national companies that have met the criteria for fulfilling the TKDN by the Ministry of Industry," said Rosan.
According to Rosan, these companies will work together under the development of Molinas together with LEN and the team led by Sigit Puji Santosa.
Rosan said standardization was needed so that the electric motorcycles produced did not run with different specifications and were able to meet international standards.
"We will work together under the direction and also under the cooperation later with LEN and also by Professor Sigit, so that we have international standardization," he said.
The government targets Molinas to be able to compete not only in the domestic market.
"It can not only be a champion in Indonesia, but also a champion in the region, and even a world champion," said Rosan.
Molinas was developed through collaboration between the government, SOEs, and national companies.
Rosan said Indonesia has the capital to build the industry ecosystem, including nickel-based battery raw materials and the ability to process them into battery cells and battery packs.
He said that around 46 percent of the world's nickel reserves are in Indonesia.
In addition to the production side, Danantara also prepares financing through banks and financial institutions under its management. The scheme includes lower interest rates, longer tenors, and efforts to reduce or eliminate the down payment.
According to Rosan, the development of Molinas is aimed at increasing the role of the national industry in the electric motorcycle market, which currently has a penetration of around 1 percent.
