East Java Police Reveals Case Of Fuel Misappropriation In Sidoarjo

The Jatm Regional Police have uncovered a case of misappropriation of diesel fuel at gas stations in the Sumorame area, Candi, Sidoarjo Regency.

The East Java Regional Police uncovered a case of misappropriation of diesel fuel at gas stations in the Sumorame area, Candi, Sidoarjo Regency. Two people were arrested in this case.

"The suspect has the initials AM as a truck driver, and MHS is a assistant," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Dirmanto, at the East Java Police Headquarters, Monday, December 11.

Dirmanto explained that the case report entered in November 2023 at around 18.00 WIB, that at gas stations in the Sumorame area, Sidoarjo, it was found that a modified truck was filling diesel fuel.

"Then investigators conducted an examination and obtained diesel fuel which was in a reservoir or bull which was placed in the back of the truck as much as 2,000 liters," he said.

During the investigation, the two suspects admitted that they had repeatedly committed their crimes. So far, both of them are controlled by a man with the initials S, who is now in pursuit.

"His confession was S who gave capital to the two suspects. We have now determined him as a DPO," he said.

Meanwhile, in its modus operandi, the truck with the number S 8284 UX used by the two suspects in action has been modified. Inside the truck there is a plastic reservoir or 4 bulls, with a capacity of 1,000 liters each.

All the reservoirs have been connected to the truck's fuel tank, so that at or after filling in the gas station, the pump switch is turned on and automatically the fuel in the truck's tank moves into the reservoir.

"The method in question is to outsmart the purchase barcode. The SOP is a one-barcode vehicle. But this syndicate has repeatedly abused diesel fuel," he said.

As for the sale and losses, investigators from Sub-Directorate IV Tipidter of the East Java Police Ditreskrimsus are still developing, including revealing the network above it.

The two suspects were charged with Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas as amended by Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022, concerning Job Creation into Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
