JAKARTA - Head of the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department, Mila Ananda, said that the installation of campaign props (APK) by using trees is not allowed. Because according to him, it actually makes trees injured, porous, and damaged.

"The wound is what causes roughness, disease to enter, it is feared that it will be like that. So it is not limited to party attributes but anything that should not be in the trunk of the tree is not allowed," Mila said quoting from the Central Jakarta Communications and Information Sub-dept., Friday, December 8.

Mila said that at this time her party had not received any reports of the installation of the APK on trees.

"For aesthetics, it's really quite disturbing because something is tilting and something continues to fall," he said.

In addition, he said, removing campaign attributes in trees is sensitive and needs to coordinate with related elements such as the attribute installers, Satpol PP, kelurahan, and sub-districts.

"But this is a democratic party, we also have to discuss it together, it is coordinated so as not to cause misunderstandings or perceptions," he said.

Previously reported, ahead of the 2024 General Election, the installation of campaign props (APK) by targeting a number of tree trunks on the sides of a number of roads was found in Central Jakarta.

According to the Chairman of the Central Jakarta KPU, Effniadiyansyah, the installation of the APK has certainly been recorded in a number of zones that are allowed and prohibited. However, specifically the installation of the APK in tree trunks is strictly prohibited.

"(placement on trees) Actually it's not allowed, it's forbidden. Automatically, if you put it on the tree, it's not allowed," said Effniadiyansyah when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, December 7.

The ban on the installation of the APK is also not allowed in a number of public facilities belonging to the central government or local governments.
