JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will determine the fate of the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri regarding alleged ethical violations of his meeting with former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. They plan to hold a preliminary examination next week.

"The preliminary examination plan is early next week. (Later, red) it will be decided whether to continue the trial or not," said KPK Supervisory Board member Syamsuddin Haris when confirmed, quoted on Wednesday, December 6.

Syamsuddin explained that the preliminary examination would later be held, followed by only five supervisory boards. "We will assess whether there is sufficient evidence of alleged violations of the code of ethics," he said.

"If the majority of the adult think that there is sufficient evidence, then it is decided to proceed to the ethics trial. On the other hand, if there is not enough evidence, the case will be terminated," he continued.

The total number of parties who have been investigated regarding the alleged ethical violations committed by Firli has now reached more than tens of people. Syamsuddin did not specify who they were, but their statement would determine the fate of the retired police officer.

"I forgot right away but about 30 people or more," he said.
