Jokowi: Electronic Certificate Reduces Risk Of Loss Of Land Ownership

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said that electronic land certificates reduce the risk of loss of proof of land ownership due to a number of factors.

"Electronic land certificates reduce the risk of loss of proof of land ownership due to loss, theft, damage due to disasters, fires, and others," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 4.

This was conveyed by Jokowi during the Submission of Land Certificates and the Launch of Electronic Land Certificates at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday.

The President said electronic certificates also facilitate data management, save transaction fees and improve data confidentiality and security.

Jokowi said the government would continue to encourage the acceleration of handing over land certificates to people throughout the country.

In 2024, the government targets the delivery of land certificates to reach 120 million certificates out of a total of 126 million certificates.

Meanwhile, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Hadi Tjahjanto in his report expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo for being willing to launch an electronic land certificate as well as symbolically handing over an electronic land certificate.

He said that with the application of electronic land certificates, the land registration process would be effective and efficient.

"In addition, it also minimizes errors in making certificates, reduces interactions with the community, and limits the space for movement of the land mafia," said Hadi Tjahjanto.

He said the electronic land certificate security system with a data block that is ready to be integrated with the blockchain system.

"In the future, through the implementation of the block chain system, it is hoped that the safety of the authenticity, validity of the certificate data will be increased so as to reduce the risk of fake certificates and duplications," he explained.

Meanwhile, if necessary, physical certificates can also be given in the form of security papers.
