Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Rasyid Baswedan will review the implementation of the Rp0 DP House program on a national scale if elected as president in 2024.

This was revealed by the Spokesperson for the National Team for the Winning of Anies-Muhaimin (AMINAn National Team), Usamah Abdul Aziz (Sami).

"The zero rupiah DP could indeed be protested to a national scale," said Sami at the AMIN Winning House, Diponegoro Street, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, November 30.

The Rp0 DP House Program was originally initiated by Anies since the 2017 DKI Regional Head Election campaign. At that time, Anies promised the DKI Provincial Government to build 200 thousand housing units in the program.

After several years as Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies lowered the target of building a Rp0 DP house to 10 thousand units. Until the end of his tenure, this target has not been achieved.

Sami explained that the implementation of the Rp0 DP house program is one of the studies that Anies will carry out, if elected as president, to make it easier for people to get their own housing.

"So the zero rupiah DP makes it easier to reduce the DP. What is usually hard to pay for a large DP is zeroed with the help of the government. Later it can indeed be elaborated. We will still review it again in the future," he explained.

Previously, Anies admitted that he wanted to change the regulations regarding the requirements for home ownership credit (KPR) if he was elected President. If he wins the 2024 presidential election, Anies promised to make regulations so that banks as distributors of credit facilities can facilitate community requirements to pay home installments.

"Actually, just regulations. The regulations have been changed, all banks follow the regulatory scheme. Well, the regulation must be able to solve the needs of housing and financing problems," said Anies in North Jakarta.

Anies assessed that the mortgage financing scheme has been complicated, especially for people who work in the non-formal sector. The former governor of DKI Jakarta emphasized that there is no need to assume that non-formal workers are difficult to earn.

"Currently, the financing scheme for home loans is complicated, and it is in favor of those in the formal sector, those who work independently, those who work in the informal sector, always have difficulty accessing," said Anies.

"That's why we want to review, change the provisions in the majority so that the majority of Indonesians who work in the informal sector, work independently, can also access mortgages," he continued.
