Kaesang Talks About Sungkem To Megawati

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep denied the issue that PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri refused to hold her hand at the KPU office.

"There is no rejection. Everything is good, it's all hoax news, Mrs. Mega accepts me well," said Kaesang, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 16.

He admitted that the meeting with Megawati that night was the first meeting after becoming PSI General Chair. Kaesang also said he visited Megawati at that time without anyone's orders.

"Yes, no one was asked to. All of them came back again, I met Mrs. Megawati for the first time as general chairman, so I explained to him that I was the General Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party," he said.

Previously, the son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) compactly greeted Megawati Soekarnoputri when approaching the draw and determination of the serial numbers for presidential-vice presidential candidates at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (14/11) night.

After three candidate pairs (paslon) Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka entered the stands, Megawati Soekarnoputri soon sat in the stands.

Then, there was an interesting moment when PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep was escorted by a vice presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Gibran Rakabuming Raka approached Megawati.

Kaesang knelt in front of Megawati and gave greetings without physical contact, while Gibran only accompanied his younger brother.

Megawati was seen sitting next to the Ganjar-Mahfud pair and the leadership of the political party that carried the candidate pair.
