Often Lied to, Iran Urges US to Fulfill Commitment in Unconditional Talks

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf urged the United States to fulfill the commitments made in negotiations on the possibility of reaching an agreement between Washington and Tehran.

"The commitments made must be fulfilled. There are no conditions, no excuses, and no exceptions. To reach the agreement that is in front of our eyes, there is no other way. You will reap what you sow," Ghalibaf wrote on the X platform.

The statement was made after US President Donald Trump on Friday said that the provisions of the Iranian media's deal did not reflect the true content of the deal reached by both parties.

Previously, the Mehr News Agency news agency reported, citing a draft memorandum on resolving the conflict between Tehran and Washington, that Iran would not start negotiations on the nuclear issue until the United States met a number of requirements.

The requirements include the release of half of Iran's blocked funds, the suspension of sanctions on Iran's oil exports, and the lifting of the maritime blockade imposed on the country.

Negotiations between Iran and the United States are taking place amid efforts by both parties to find a way out of the conflict that has worsened in recent months.
