Palestinian Defending Action, Selling Attributers Are Sweet

JAKARTA - The Palestinian defense action in the Jakarta National Monument (Monas) area presents its own blessings for Palestinian attribute traders.

Romi, for example, as a Palestinian design hat trader, admitted that he had pocketed a fairly profitable profit from selling rice.

"It sold 200 and a hat. It looks like IDR 1.5 million," Romi said when met at Monas, Central Jakarta, Sunday, November 5.

Romi admitted that he only made a profit of Rp. 5,000 from each hat he sold. The top is priced at Rp. 25,000 per single seed. It is planned that the profit will be donated to Palestine.

"I plan to donate to Palestine. Calculate my charity for Palestine," he said.

The Palestinian defense action was centered at Monas Jakarta on Sunday 5 November. There were long marches to the HI Roundabout then to Monas.

The committee predicts 1.4 million people will crowd the Monas area following the Palestinian defense action.

"We received information that this action was attended by 1.4 million people. This is only the one at Monas," said the committee, on the stage of the Palestinian defense action at Monas, Jakarta, Sunday, November 5.

In this mass action, ministers, state officials and political elites were also present. They also launched an oration to defend Palestine from Israel's indiscriminate aggression against Gaza.

Among them are those who attended this action, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar, Deputy Chairperson of the MPR Jazilul Fawaid, to former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

In addition, interfaith leaders were also present in the action coordinated by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
