Corruption Rp600 Million, Central Java Provincial Government's Gas Station Cashier Arrested By Police

PURWOKERTO - Banyumas City Police succeeded in uncovering a case of alleged corruption committed by a cashier for a public gas station (SPBU) owned by the Central Java Provincial Government (Central Java) managed by the Citra Mandiri Regional Company in Sokaraja, Banyumas Regency.

"The Head of the Sokaraja PD Citra Mandiri gas station unit in Central Java with the initials IR (40), a resident of Sokaraja Lor Village, Sokaraja District, has been reported by his company to the Banyumas Police on April 6, 2021 for allegedly embezzling company money of more than Rp600 million," said Head of Banyumas Police, Police Commissioner Edy Suranta Sitepu, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.

In this case, he said, IR was reported to have committed a criminal act of corruption in the form of deviations in the payment of receivables from the Sokaraja PD Citra Mandiri gas station unit in Central Java (which changed its name to PT Jateng Agro Berdikari (Perseroda) since 2022, ed.) from PT Fajar Mulai Abadi Sokaraja.

According to him, the suspect allegedly committed this act from 2013 to 2019 by mode of receiving cash from the collection of receivables from PT Fajar Mulai Abadi Sokaraja.

"The money should have been deposited with the PD Citra Mandiri Business Unit, the Sokaraja Gas Station Unit, but the perpetrators deposited it into their personal account at Bank BRI," he explained.

Furthermore, Kasatreskrim Kompol Agus Supriadi Siswanto said that based on the audit report on the calculation of state financial losses on August 26, 2022, on suspicion of corruption at PD Citra Mandiri, Central Java, the Sokaraja gas station unit from 2013 to 2019, it was found that there was a state financial loss of Rp681,086,965.

Therefore, he said, his party ensnared the suspect under Article 8 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 which was updated by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 64 of the Criminal Code or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 which was updated by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 64 of the Criminal Code.

"We have transferred the suspect along with evidence to the Banyumas District Attorney for further legal proceedings because the results of the investigation are complete or P-21," said Kompol Agus.
