Driven By Volunteers To Become Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate, Here's Gibran's Answer

Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka responded to the push of a number of volunteer groups who proposed that he be a vice presidential candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election. In fact, Prabowo Subianto admitted that he would bring Gibran's proposed name as a vice presidential candidate to the Indonesia Maju Coalition forum (KIM).

"Yes (I) don't care about it. Go ahead, aspirations from everyone yesterday, (Relawan) Alap-Alap (Jokowi), Samawi (Jokowi Youth Ulama Solidarity), please accommodate it," said Gibran when met by media crews at Solo City Hall, Monday 9 October.

"Yes, then I will return it to him. Volunteers, yes, we will cover all his votes," he said.

Gibran admitted that Prabowo Subianto had repeatedly received an offer directly as his vice presidential candidate. He has also communicated the offer to PDIP.

"Well, everyone knows that he (Prabowo) has asked many times. I have reported it to the leadership. To the Secretary General (Hasto Kristiyanto), to Mbak Puan (Maharani), and others,"

However, due to being hampered by the rules, Gibran revealed that the answer he gave to Prabowo was related to his age who did not meet the requirements of the Constitutional Court.

"The answer? It's not enough age. Wis is clear to," he said.

When asked about his steps if the lawsuit regarding the general requirements of the vice presidential candidate was granted by the Constitutional Court and his age met the requirements, Gibran was reluctant to answer his political steps.

"Yes, just wait at the Constitutional Court, yes, piye (how)," he said.

For information, Prabowo Subianto admitted that he would bring Gibran's proposal as a vice presidential candidate to the Forward Indonesia Coalition forum.
