JAKARTA - Iraqi authorities said the Turkish drone strike in the northern region of the country killed three members of the anti-terrorism force and injured three others on Monday.
The drone crossed the border from Turkey in the afternoon and hit Arbid's small military airport in Sulaymaniyah province, Iraqi military spokesman Yahya Rasool said on Tuesday.
The military condemned the attack as "a violation of Iraqi sovereignty, security and security of its territory".
"This is a violation and a threat to peace and security in the region as well as the world, a violation of international law and violations of the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter," the military said.
Meanwhile, the UN mission to Iraq also condemned the attack, calling for a halt to such a violation of sovereignty.
