JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5 occurred in Tambrauw Regency, Southwest Papua, Sunday 17 September, at 04.17 WIB. Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) was monitored from its official website informing that the coordinates of the earthquake were at 0.56 South Latitude (LS) - 133.12 East Longitude (BT) with a depth of 10 kilometers. Meanwhile, the epicenter was 84 kilometers northeast of Tambrauw, Southwest Papua. BMKG informed that the earthquake was not potentially a tsunami. However, BMKG also appealed to the public to be careful of possible aftershocks.
