From January 2023 to this month, September, the Central Java (Central Java) Police have processed the law on hundreds of gambling cases spread from various regions in Central Java. Based on the data received, from January to September 2023 there were 221 gambling cases with a total of 350 suspects.

"Of these, the Ditreskrimum of the Central Java Police revealed 46 cases and detained 52 perpetrators. Meanwhile, of the 35 Polres, 175 cases were revealed with 298 perpetrators," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, in a written statement, Wednesday, September 13.

The types of gambling that were revealed, continued Satake, were very diverse, ranging from traditional gambling, Hong Kong lottery gambling, Sidney lottery to Cap Ji Kia.

"All cases revealed, criminal investigations and processing are carried out in accordance with applicable laws, until they are completed," he said.

He also revealed that the Central Java police were quite active in eradicating gambling. However, the most cases were revealed by the Pati Police with 23 and 29 perpetrators, the Grobogan Police with 11 cases and 16 perpetrators and the Batang Police with 10 cases and 16 suspects.

"All the police officers made a breakthrough, none of them were nil. Everyone made a disclosure," he added

In eradicating gambling, the Central Java Police also established cross-sectoral cooperation, including religious leaders, to provide education to the public about the dangers of gambling. In addition, his party also asked the public to actively participate in eradicating gambling by daring to report to the police.

"It can be via WhatsApp, telephone services 110 and other existing facilities. The identity of the reporter will be protected," he explained.
