Thousands Of Grilled Chickens Due To Livestock Fires In Semarang

Thousands of chickens caught fire and disappeared after a fire hit a cage on a farm, Mijen, Semarang City, Central Java.

"Thousands of burning chickens, some are missing," said Head of Operations and Rescue of the Semarang City Fire Department, Untung Sugiono, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 6.

The fire department estimates that the loss of livestock owners due to vehicles reaches Rp. 500 million. As for the fire trigger, he continued, it is still uncertain

However, he said, the initial assumption that the incident began with the activity of burning garbage which eventually spread to the chicken coop.

Four firefighters were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire. The fire took several hours to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.

From the information gathered, several livestock employees were injured as a result of the incident.

In addition, a number of motorcycles were also burned in the unfortunate incident.
