Airlangga Ensures That The Forward Indonesia Coalition Will Immediately Discuss PKB Which Is Close To NasDem

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, said that the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM), where his party is located, immediately discussed the National Awakening Party (PKB) which is close to the Change Coalition for Unity together with the NasDem Party.

"Yes, we will discuss it internally in the near future," said Airlangga when met at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.

Previously, it was rumored that the presidential candidate (candidate) for the Change Coalition for the Anies Baswedan Association would be duet with PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar.

The Coalition for Change for Unity was attended by the NasDem Party, Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), and the Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, PKB is part of KIM along with the Golkar Party, Gerindra Party, and the National Mandate Party (PAN) which has appointed Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate.

Airlangga said the news of the close of PKB to the Change Coalition for Unity was a policy taken by PKB as a form of party independence.

He said PKB did not communicate with the Golkar Party regarding the news of his closeness to the Coalition for Change for Unity.

"If the plan is related to the action that was decided, as yesterday no one communicated, yes, that means it was a decision from the PKB," he said.

Airlangga said the Golkar Party and the coalition would soon explore the news.

The Democratic Party, as the party that first revealed the news of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandaritu duo, also questioned the move.

The party chaired by Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) considered the announcement of the Anies-Muhaimin duo as a unilateral decision taken by the NasDem Party.
