Panglima Jenderal Agus: Anggota TNI Terlibat Judi Online Akan Ditindak Tegas

JAKARTA TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto emphasized that his party will take firm action against members of the TNI who are involved in online gambling activities.

This statement was made by Agus after receiving data from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam) which revealed that there were 97,000 members of the TNI and Polri who were suspected of playing online gambling.

"We are taking firm action, we will give sanctions. We have punishment," said Agus at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, November 25.

However, Agus explained that the sanctions given would depend on the process and the applicable rules. Not all cases automatically end up being dismissed.

"We will see according to the rules and cases, there is a process," said Agus.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan presented the latest data related to online gambling players in Indonesia. Based on a report quoted from the Kominfo Digital (Komdigi) press release on Saturday, November 23, the number of online gambling players in Indonesia has reached 8.8 million people.

The majority of online gambling players come from private employees, with a total of 1.9 million people. In addition, there are 97,000 members of the TNI and Polri involved, as well as 80,000 players who are still minors, aged under 10 years.

"This figure is predicted to continue to grow if we do not make massive efforts to eradicate online gambling," said Budi Gunawan.

General Agus Subiyanto emphasized that online gambling is a serious concern for the TNI. Strict action against members involved is one of the efforts to maintain institutional discipline and integrity.

"We will ensure that all members of the TNI comply with the rules, and strict action will be taken if there is a violation," said Agus.

This step shows the TNI's commitment to supporting efforts to eradicate online gambling, which is now one of the big challenges in Indonesia.
