KPU Gelorakan The Spirit Of Independence To Maintain Unity At Election Moments

The General Election Commission (KPU) of South Kalimantan Province is encouraging the spirit of independence to maintain unity in the election so that all parties can realize the importance of the sense of brotherhood of the nation and the devil.

"Let's make it the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence a momentum to foster a sense of unity amidst differences in political choices in the 2024 General Election," said South Kalimantan Provincial KPU Chairman Andi Tenri Sompa in Banjarmasin, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 17.

Wearing traditional clothes from various regions in Indonesia, all members of the South Kalimantan KPU and staff also want to show that the Indonesian people are very diverse. However, all of them remain united in diversity and no one has opposed this from ancient times until now.

Therefore, Tenri hopes that a similar spirit can be shown in the election contestation while still prioritizing the fighting spirit of the heroes.

From the current condition of an independent and sovereign country, he said, the Indonesian nation can carry out elections with a democratic system.

"Don't let the democratic party that we now enjoy be tarnished by hostile behavior, let alone blaspheme each other due to different political choices," he said.

Tenri stated that the 2024 General Election was really a means of integrated the nation that united and did not separate so that the leaders and representatives of the people were born as a result of democracy completely.
