Megawati Absent From Pramono-Rano Karno's Grand Campaign, Hasto PDIP: Spiritual Support Still Given

Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri did not attend the grand campaign for the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung-Rano Karno at the Gelora Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium (GBK). However, spiritual support is still being given.

This was conveyed by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto after attending the event. He said the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia preferred to support the pair number 3 spiritually because of the large and structured intimidation.

"We saw various intimidation that occurred massively and this must have been structured. So Mrs. Mega did not come today but gave spiritual support," Hasto told reporters, Saturday, November 23.

"He is contemplation, then has a hijab using a green prayer beads and this shows that various intimidations are carried out by making the truth," he continued.

Megawati is confirmed to continue to support the couple. Although his physical presence was not seen in the grand campaign.

"That's what Megawati Soekarnoputri did. Please pray for her blessing," he said.

Hasto hopes that the people of Jakarta can provide support to Pramono-Rano Karno. "The leadership of Mas Pram and Bang Doel in Jakarta really places himself as representatives of the people, not representatives of the king, not representatives of certain groups," he said.

"But representatives of the power of the people who want to see Jakarta as our common pride. So we ask for their support for Mas Pram and Bang Rano Karno," concluded Hasto.
