Fugitive Case Of Persecution Arrested By South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Team

A fugitive with the status of a defendant named Sjarifuddin alias Father (65) was arrested by the Ewako Adhyaksa team who arrested Fugitives (Tabur) of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Sulsel).

The person concerned was secured at the Nusa Harapan Permai Housing Block D9, Katimbang Village, Biringkanaya District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi. The fugitive was then taken to the Prosecutor's Office to be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office Team of the Pinrang Kejari to continue the trial process," said Head of the South Sulawesi Attorney General's Office Soertami in Makassar as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 15.

The defendant was charged with molestation and violated Article 351 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. In the case, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) has transferred the case files to be tried at the District Court (PN) on March 7, 2023.

Initially, the defendant was subject to the type of house detention, but the Panel of Judges at the Pinrang District Court issued a determination to detain the defendant with the type of detention of the Detention Center (Rutan).

Later, the defendant immediately fled and could not be contacted by the Public Prosecutor. The defendant since March 24, 2023 has been designated as a wanted list (DPO).

On the orders of the Head of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak, based on the Intelligence Operation Order number Sprint-Ops: 48/P.4/Dti.2/08/2023 dated August 14, 2023, the Tabur Team secured this middle-aged man at his hiding place.

Kajati asked his staff to always monitor and immediately arrest fugitives who are still roaming around to be executed for legal certainty.
