The Family Of The Corruption Defendant At Bangkinang Hospital Returns Rp100 Million

PEKANBARU - The family of Arvina Wulandari, a defendant in the corruption case of the Regional Public Service Agency of the Bangkinang Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Kampar Regency, Riau, returned Rp100 million in state losses through the prosecutor's office.

"It is true, the defendant's family came to the office and deposited some of the state's losses. The amount was Rp. 100 million," said Head of the Special Crimes Section of the District Attorney's Office,Marthalius, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 15.

Arvina is currently sitting in a chair and his case is rolling in court. In this case, he was charged with a criminal act that cost the state finances nearly Rp7 billion.

The refund reduces the state losses caused by the case. Moreover, previously during the investigation process, there were a number of assets belonging to the defendant that had been confiscated by the prosecutor.

"Essentially, we appreciate the good faith shown by the defendant. This is in line with the spirit of handling corruption, namely optimizing the recovery of state financial losses," said Martha.

The Rp100 million has been handed over to the treasurer of the receipt and then deposited to the Kampar Kejari Kejari Other Revenue Account (RPL). Later the money will be evidence at trial.

"With the return, of course, it will affect the criminal charges that will be submitted by the public prosecutor in the trial," he said.

The alleged corruption case of Arvina Wulandari was handled by Riau Regional Police investigators. Arvina is the Treasurer of the Expenditure of the BLUD Bangkinang Hospital.

He is suspected of abusing his authority in the activities of using BLUD funds at Bangkinang Hospital for the 2017 and 2018 fiscal years.

As a result of his actions, there was a state financial loss of Rp6,992,246,181.04. This figure is known based on the report on the results of the calculation of state losses by the BPK.
