Fedi Nuril and Ali Fikry Reunion in the Film Bapakmu Kiper, Pick Up the Story of Father and Son in Comedy

JAKARTA - The production house Entelekey Sinema Indonesia (ESI) officially launched the first trailer of the latest comedy drama film titled Bapakmu Kiper. This film presents a reconciliation narrative between a father and his son who have long been estranged through the dynamics of football between villages (tarkam).

This film directed by Ody Harahap promises a warm and down-to-earth comedy without having to burden the audience with overly emotional drama.

Fedi Nuril who plays the character of a father named Warto revealed his enthusiasm to be able to act again with Ali Fikry. After previously collaborating in a different genre project, Fedi said that this reunion gave a new color because it was wrapped in a comedy.

"It's always fun (acting with Ali Fikry). And because the genre is now comedy, so there is still something new to explore. So it's really cool, the term is Father and Son Multiverse," said Fedi Nuril at the release event of the film trailer for your father's goalkeeper at Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 28.

Fedi also admitted to being impressed by the ability to handle the ball shown by Ali Fikry during the production process. He didn't expect that the 18-year-old actor had a skilled mastery of field techniques when playing the character Dino.

"Now he is surprised, because it turns out he is good at playing the ball. Not only can, he is good," added Fedi.

To delve into the role as a former goalkeeper for the club's mainstay, the Sakti Wolves, Fedi underwent an intensive training session with a special coach for two weeks before the shooting process began. However, he joked that his natural instincts on the field tended to be passive when securing the round skin.

"It turns out that I'm not a goalkeeper at all. I was nicknamed 'Lazy Goalkeeper'. If the opponent is really close, I'll really catch it. But as long as it doesn't, I use my feet a lot, not my hands. But I think it can be a signature too, like my idol goalkeeper, Ederson," he joked.

In terms of the storyline, the film Bapakmu Kiper highlights the dynamic relationship between Warto and Dino. Fedi assessed the awkward issue between father and son is an emotional phenomenon that is very close to the reality of Indonesian society in general.

"Behind his inability is actually just the inability of a father to show great love and affection just right. So the story about emotional closeness combined with the world of football between villages, I think it will touch the heart," said Fedi.

Meanwhile, Ali Fikry feels that the character of Dino gives his own depth to his acting journey. The character he plays depicts the process of growing up as a child who dares to open the door of forgiveness for his father's past.

"For me, Dino is not just about a child who is angry with his father. This is about how it feels to wait for someone to change, and finally learn to trust again. It's really exciting to be able to bring that emotion in the middle of the fun of the funny tarkam," said Ali.

Furthermore, director Ody Harahap executed the script written by Titien Wattimena and Aaron Hart with the Katatinut team. Then the executive producer line-up was filled by Patricia Gunadi, Garnet Geraldine, and Yvonne Supangkat, and produced by Arci Fadillah.
