KPK Fugitive Paulus Tannos Now With South African Passport

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic ID cards or e-KTP, Paulus Tannos is no longer an Indonesian citizen. He now holds a passport for a country in the South African region as well as changes its name.

"The person concerned (Paulus Tannos, ed) has changed his identity and the passports of other countries in the South African region," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri at the KPK's Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 10.

"This change in identity actually made the KPK fail to bring home Paulus," said Ali. In fact, investigators have found it in neighboring Indonesia.

"Paul Tannos, as we have said, even the KPK has found him abroad," he said.

In the future, Ali ensures that the KPK will continue to look for Tannos. However, he did not mention how.

"Therefore, of course, we have never published these kinds of technicalities before because technically, when looking for DPOs, we don't need to publish them," said Ali.

As a reminder, the KPK is still pursuing three fugitives. They are Kirana Kotama who has been wanted since 2017 for alleged bribery in filing for a revision of forest function in Riau Province in 2014 to the Ministry of Forestry.

Second, Paulus Tannos who stumbled upon the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Electronic Identity Cards (e-KTP). He is currently in Singapore.

Finally, former candidate Harun Masiku is also still at large. The suspect who gave bribes to former General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan is still unknown.
