KPK Leaders Will Cut 2.5 Percent Salary For Infaq

JAKARTA - The head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to cut his salary by 2.5 percent for infaq. This discourse was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Fitroh Rochahyanto, when opening a mass circumcision ceremony in the context of the 22nd KPK Service Day which was attended by 30 children.

"Earlier, the Chairman (Chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto) had whispered to me. This will be for the leadership to be ready for signatures today, how much is the percentage to cut? 15 percent? 2.5 and a half percent," said Fitroh in his remarks, Friday, January 3.

"Right, the leadership salary is quite large, yes," he continued.

Fitroh called this mass circumcision event a form of concern and commitment from the institution to approach the community. "We, the KPK leadership, are committed to continuing to support activities like this," he said.

The source of the budget for this activity is called Fitroh, not from other parties but from zakat and infaq KPK employees. This money was then managed by the Al-Ikhlas Mosque Welfare Council (DKM) of the KPK and channeled through the National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS).

"KPK expresses its gratitude to employees who sincerely distribute zakat collected and deposit it to BAZNAS and then distribute its benefits regularly per semester to the community. This is also a realization of the work program of DKM Al-Ikhlas KPK in collaboration with the Rohis KORPRI KPK, the Secretariat General of the KPK, and BAZNAS," said Fitroh.

Meanwhile, Chairman of DKM Al-Ikhlas KPK Basuki Haryono mentioned various other social activities. Including distributing scholarships to elementary, junior high, and high school students.

"It is hoped that the harmonious synergy between the KPK and the community can continue to be established in all aspects, not only related to eradicating corruption but also at the same time establishing closeness with the community through useful social actions," concluded Basuki.
