Yesterday, Bareskrim Canceled The Case Regarding Money Laundering Committee Panji Gumilang

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has canceled the case of alleged Money Laundering (TPPU) involving Panji Gumilang.

Originally, it was stated that the investigative team would immediately conduct a case title if the six administrators of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Foundation (YPI) which oversees the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School did not fulfill the clarification call on August 1, yesterday.

Director of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan said the case title process would be carried out this week. However, the time was not explained in detail.

"Not yet, not yet. This week, this week," said Whisnu when confirmed, Wednesday, August 2.

In addition, regarding the six witnesses from the YPI Foundation, it was stated that not all of them fulfilled yesterday's summons. There are some whose request for information is scheduled for today and tomorrow.

"Not yet (all asked for information), there are plans for several people to postpone it tomorrow (today) or the day after tomorrow)," said Whisnu.

Previously, Bareskrim Polri rescheduled the examination of six witnesses, two of whom were Panji Gumilang's children in the alleged Money Laundering Crime (TPPU) on August 1. If they are not present again, investigators will immediately conduct a case title.

"If the six people are not present, the investigator will conduct a case title to raise the status from investigation to investigation," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan.

The six people had the initials IP and APU who were the chairmen and secretaries of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Foundation (YPI) which oversees the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School. Both are children of Panji Gumilang.

Then, other witnesses namely IS, AH, MN, and MAS. They are also administrators at the foundation.

"6 other witnesses, according to the explanation of their attorneys, will be asked for clarification on Tuesday, August 1, 2023," said Ramadhan
