KPU Cianjur Ready To 'Against' Paslon Herman-Ibang At The Constitutional Court

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Cianjur Regency, West Java, stated its readiness to face a lawsuit hearing filed by the pair participating in the 2024 Cianjur Pilkada number 1 Herman-Ibang at the Constitutional Court which was registered on January 3, 2025.

Chairman of the KPU Cianjur Regency Muchamad Ridwan said his party was still waiting for the trial schedule at the Constitutional Court and was always ready to face every lawsuit because in every election. KPU Cianjur has already worked according to the mechanism regulated in the KPU Regulation.

"We have prepared several things that are applications or lawsuits that are reported by candidate pair number 1. Why are we ready because we work according to the existing mechanisms in PKPU and legislation," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Sunday, January 5.

His party is required to always be ready according to the existing mechanism, including in accepting the lawsuit made by the candidate pair during the election or regional elections.

Before attending the trial at the Constitutional Court, his party will attend a national consolidation meeting held by the Indonesian KPU. The meeting was attended by all the KPU who received a lawsuit at the Constitutional Court so that his party had prepared and studied the points to be questioned.

"Later, the legal division will attend a national consolidation meeting at the Indonesian KPU to face the trial which will be held at the Constitutional Court," he said.

Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court (MK) of the Republic of Indonesia has registered a Dispute Case on the Results of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) proposed by candidate pair number 1 Herman-Ibang.

The coordinator of Herman-Ibang's attorney, Oden Muharam Junaedi, said the dispute filed had been registered with Number 200/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 14.00 WIB and KPU Cianjur as the respondent.

"It has been registered with the Constitutional Court regarding the lawsuit filed by pair number 1, now it is just a matter of waiting for the preliminary examination schedule on January 8 and will be included in several panels," he said.

He explained the points of the lawsuit filed, including those related to the alleged violation of the administrative process carried out by the Cianjur Pilkada organizers, in this case the Cianjur KPU.

So that his party asked for a maximum re-voting (PSU) in 32 sub-districts and at least seven sub-districts which were deemed to have the potential for violations during the 2024 Cianjur Pilkada.
