Police Will Pursue Fugitive From KPK Harun Masiku In Cambodia

JAKARTA - The National Police's International Relations Division (Divhubinter) is following up on information on fugitive Harun Masiku, who is reportedly in Cambodia and has changed his citizenship. Head of the National Police Divhubinter, Inspector General Krishna Murti, said that his party would cooperate with the KPK, Interpol and Cambodian authorities in following up on the information. "We will follow up, cooperate with the KPK and Interpol and the Cambodian authorities," Krishna said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 26. The legislature from the PDI-P Harun Masiku has become a fugitive in the alleged case of giving gifts or promises to state officials regarding the appointment of elected DPR RI Members 2019-2024 at the General Election Commission (KPU), on the wanted list (DPO) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) since January 17, 2020. In March 2023, Harun Masiku was also rumored to be the marbot of mosques in Malaysia. Regarding the fugitive who fled abroad, National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo was in The Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 7, said that it was making a cooperation scheme with ASEAN member countries to arrest fugitives. "Currently we are working with several countries in ASEAN to facilitate the search for perpetrators using the 'police to police' scheme," said Sigit. This was conveyed by the National Police Chief in response to President Joko Widodo's order to arrest fugitives for corruption crimes who are abroad. "Currently we are traveling around to several countries in ASEAN and hopefully this can be used to help make arrests of perpetrators or fugitives who are currently outside Indonesia," added the National Police Chief. Jokowi revealed that corruption fugitives will definitely be found. "There are also people who haven't met in a year, but in six months there have been, but there are also 17 people who have not been found. Third, Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin, who has been the DPO of the KPK since October 19, 2021. Paulus Tannos is a suspect in alleged corruption in the procurement of electronic ID cards in 2011-2013 at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Fourth, the suspect in the alleged receipt of gifts related to the procurement project in Central Mamberamo Regency and other receipts of Ricky Ham Pagawak who became the KPK DPO since July 15, 2022.
