JAKARTA - BUMN Minister Erick Thohir assessed that the Diplomat Success Challenge (DSC) program and competition was present as a support system and safeplaces for young Indonesian entrepreneurs during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

"In the midst of a pandemic situation, DSC is here as a support system and safeplaces for entrepreneurs and the young generation of Indonesia who can adapt quickly, be innovative, collaborative, and have the passion to always make a breakthrough," said Erick Thohir when delivering his keynote speech at the Diplomat online press conference. Success Challenge in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 26 January.

Erick understands that the pandemic conditions that hit Indonesia and the rest of the world are not easy, but he believes there are new opportunities that can be exploited.

The Minister of BUMN said there were many facilities provided by the government or other parties so that MSME players could get back up.

"One of them I really appreciate the presence of innovative programs such as the Diplomat Success Challenge (DSC), entrepreneurial programs and competitions initiated by the Wismilak Foundation," he said.

The DSC program has been running for more than a decade and this year is entering its 11th year. BUMN Minister Erick Thohir also conveyed a message to the 11th DSC participants who would later be selected to become this moment as the first step to make a breakthrough, with DSC as the forum.

"Take advantage of this opportunity as well as possible, provide inspiration to the surrounding environment and continue to learn, and continue to innovate. Let's make a breakthrough," said Erick Thohir.

It has been a year since Indonesia was in a pandemic era COVID-19. During this one year the pandemic also affected all areas of people's life, especially in the economic sector.

The pandemic situation has indeed shaken the stability of the economy, but on the one hand in the country there are also many potential for small and medium enterprises that are adaptive to change and ready to survive.

To answer this challenge, DSC is still here to provide space for business people to dare to #BIKINGEBRAKAN, design and develop relevant businesses in new normal situations which are certainly not easy. This year also marks the presence of DSC, which has contributed 11 years to the formation of the Indonesian entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Currently, DSC XI 2020, which is an entrepreneurial program initiated by the Wismilak Foundation, has reached the final stage.

The series of DSC XI events, which have gone through several stages since opening on August 14, 2020, have the aim of maturing the Indonesian entrepreneurial ecosystem, providing education and business assistance, and especially providing venture capital grants with a total of IDR 2 billion to participants with the most potential business ideas.
