Minister Of Agriculture Strives For A Minimum Beef Price Of IDR 50,000 Per Kilogram

LAMPUNG - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Amran Sulaiman seeks a minimum beef price of IDR 50,000 per kilogram to improve the welfare of farmers.

"I ask the Director General to help check, I ask that at least the price of meat can be Rp. 50,000 per kilogram or more. Not to be below Rp.48 thousand per kilogram. So we solve problems that hinder the welfare of farmers and breeders in Lampung," said Amran Sulaiman based on a written statement received in Bandarlampung, Sunday.

He said the government was committed to resolving problems related to agriculture and the welfare of farmers to farmers concretely by calling farmers and farmers who were experiencing difficulties.

"We want to call farmers who are experiencing difficulties and we build together with Indonesia into a developed country. The problem is cheap meat, don't make it difficult for farmers like the milk problem that was resolved yesterday and the import permit was revoked," he said.

He also asked his staff to address the problem of cheap beef prices in Lampung Province. The response regarding the low price of beef was also conveyed by the Chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzani.

"Regarding the problem of cattle farmers who complain that the meat is priced at a low price and causes losses. Because the soaring food prices of cattle must be handled," said Muzani.

He said one example is that the price of beef in Lampung is sold at a price below IDR 48 thousand per kilogram.

"Please the Minister of Agriculture in order to provide the best solution for our farmers, one of which is in Lampung," he added.
