Deputy Minister Of PKP: There Needs To Be Waste Management Regulations In Subsidized Housing

Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Fahri Hamzah assessed the need for special regulations on waste management in every housing including subsidized housing for low-income people (MBR).

Fahri said that in addition to infrastructure, facilities, and utilities (PSU) for environmental roads, facilitation is needed from the government for waste sorting.

That way, continued Fahri, the subsidized home environment will be cleaner and healthier and comfortable for the community to live in.

So there must be regulations on waste management starting from sorting. So that the basic waste sorting facilities must exist in every housing including subsidized houses," he said, Sunday, November 17.

Fahri said that so far household waste has only been left wasted in the trash without any special handling so that it enters the Final Disposal Site (TPA).

"If it continues like this, of course there will never be sorting. In fact, if there is no sorting, it will be our'sin'," he said.

"So don't let the garbage problem just go away without having the right solution or relying on certain parties such as the local village head to manage it," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Nusa Tenggara Housing Provision Agency (P2P) I of the Directorate General of Housing, Ariftman, said that this year his party had completed the construction of a PSU for low-income housing (MBR) in the Kerato Asri Nature Housing in Sumbawa Regency, NTB.

The location is on Jalan Bung Karno Lintas Semu, Lempeh, Sumbawa District, Sumbawa Regency and as many as 54 housing units now have good and quality environmental roads.

The subsidized housing built by the developer PT. Alam Asri Properti received assistance from PSU type Jalan Lingkungan Paving Block. The length of the 192 meter road is 4 meters wide and can now be utilized by the community and in the future we will also coordinate with developers for handling the waste," said Arifman.
