Corruption Suspect For Lombok Hajj Dormitory Project Enters The Prosecutor's DPO

Wishnu SelAMEt Basuki (46), a suspect in the corruption case of building rehabilitation funds at the Technical Implementation Unit of the Lombok Hajj Embarkation Dormitory, West Nusa Tenggara, is on the wanted list (DPO) of the prosecutor's office.

Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, emphasized that Wishnu SelAMEt Basuki was included in the prosecutor's DPO in accordance with the Determination Letter Number: Print-01/N.2/Fd.1/08/2022 dated August 18, 2022.

"Therefore, for people who know and know the whereabouts of this suspect, they should immediately contact the NTB Prosecutor's Office to telephone number [phone] or can report it to the nearest prosecutor's office or police station," said Efrien as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 30.

Before issuing the DPO for the man born in Jember, his party had carried out a series of investigations according to applicable legal procedures.

"That the suspect, investigators have properly summoned 3 times by officially writing to the address where he lives in Malang. However, the suspect was never present without reason," he said.

Because they did not respond to the investigator's summons to provide information as a suspect, the prosecutor's office also made a forced summons by looking for Wishnu SelAMEt Basuki according to his domicile address in Malang.

However, Efrien said the search results stated that the suspect no longer lived at the domicile address.

"So, until now the whereabouts of the suspect have not been found. That's why we issued a DPO for the needs of the in-deptia trial concerned," he said.

Wishnu SelAMEt Basuki in a case that cost the country billions of rupiah, played the role of the person who borrowed the CV Kerta Agung flag to carry out a physical project at the Lombok Embarkation Hajj Dormitory UPT.

CV Kerta Agung was also revealed by Dyah Estu Kurniawati who was also a suspect along with the former Head of the Lombok Embarkation Hajj Dormitory, Abdurrazak Al Fakir. Both have also undergone prosecution at the Mataram Corruption Court (Tipikor).

For Abdurrazak, the judge has sentenced him to 8 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 400 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison and charged Abdurrazak to pay compensation for state losses of Rp. 791 million, subsidiary to 5 years in prison.

To Dyah Estu Kurniawati, the judge in the verdict acquitted her of all charges by the public prosecutor and ordered Dyah to be released from detention.

The judge in the decision also determined that the evidence from the Dyah case, both in the form of documents and deposits of replacement money worth Rp. 27 million, was returned to the public prosecutor for use in the Wishnu Selamet Basuki case.

In Dyah's demands, the prosecutor previously requested that the judge impose a prison sentence of 7 years and 6 months with a fine of Rp. 300 million, subsidiary to 4 months in prison and pay compensation for state losses of Rp. 1.32 billion, subsidiary to 3 years and 9 months in prison.

With the first instance court decision, the public prosecutor filed an appeal for Dyah Estu Kurniawati.

Likewise, Abdurrazak, who filed a legal action up to the level of cassation after the West Nusa Tenggara High Court upheld the decision of the first instance court.

The problem that arose in the construction rehabilitation project work at the Lombok Embarkation Hajj Dormitory UPT was first revealed from the results of the examination by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) with a loss value of Rp1.2 billion.

The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) also conducted an audit with the findings of a loss of Rp. 2.65 billion. The loss arose from an overpayment of the lack of work volume.

The work related to the rehabilitation of buildings at the Lombok Embarkation Hajj Dormitory UPT includes the hotel building, Mina building, the Safwa building, the Arafah building, and the PIH building.
